Yes is may be almost identical to Earth. Kinda sad that we are reaching the point we need to find a new planet, but whatever.
did they take into consideration that it is 3 times bigger then Earth? That A person weighing 200 pounds would be 1,100 pounds! That is not even manageable. The only people who could live a life before their bones broke, or a life not in a motorized wheel chair would be Children.
All of that aside, unless we could harness the amount of energy the Sun gives off, we would not be able to travel 600 light years ( 3530000000000000 miles ) in less then 11 million years.
What do you think?
EDIT: Raymond – You are stating opinion for one. For two, sure, new is exciting. Just like people get excited over the IPhone 5 as they were when Chevy brought back the Camaro. All because its something new and cool that they can USE OR SEE. What use is a planet 600 light years away that we can never use, see, feel or smell? Sure its great they discovered it… But to my knowledge, we don’t even have an actual picture of it that was not created in autoCAD. Even if we could see a picture of it, how is it any more meaningful then a planet much closer Earth that is filled with Iron, planet called Mercury. At least there we realistically only have to endure the heat of the sun.
Not to mention the simple fact, who is to say this planet isnt even more used up then Earth is already.
Even if we had a picture of it, it would be 600 years old at the distance it is. They would be looking back at us and seeing us in the 1400’s. So for all we know, we are looking at a planet that has sin
I have considered the excessive gravitational forces that any complex life would have to contend with and after consideration of a very non-lenghty investigation I have concluded that this planet is surely to be inhabited by, to coin a phrase,
"Pancake People".
